The 10 Best Places In Bali For Epic Photos
There’s a reason Bali is called “Island Of The Gods.” It’s literally heaven on earth.
Bali is one of the most magical & photogenic places in the world and that’s a fact. Joe and I spent our first two weeks back home in LA scrolling through our phone photos & videos showing our friends and family how amazing Bali is. Their reactions we’re all the same: “So when are we all going?!” Friendly locals, delicious vegan food, fresh juices and smoothies everyday, unforgettable adventures, and of course the most picturesque settings you could imagine. It was one of the happiest and most unforgettable adventures yet.
I asked you guys on my Instagram (@amy_marietta) what you wanted me to share about Bali, and you asked for a list of the best places in Bali for epic photos, so here it is! Keep scrolling for the 10 best places in Bali for epic photos, plus some bonus additions at the end.
The W Hotel
The bamboo entrance, restaurants, ocean view pool, etc.
The W Hotel in Seminyak, Bali is my favorite resort in Seminyak. Everything is iconic from the bamboo entrance to the ocean view pool that is designed to pay homage to Bali’s famous rice fields. The ocean view suites, contemporary art, and modern restaurants – everything at the W is photogenic.
Potato Head Beach at sunset
Just in front of the W is Potato Head Beach and it has been my favorite place to watch sunset since my last trip to Bali in 2015. Bright and bold colors complimented by fluffy clouds – this sunset is not one to miss.
The Mulia Pools
Ahhh the Mulia, my favorite luxury hotel in Nusa Dua, Bali. There are over seven pools around the property, two which have ocean views. Personally, I prefer the ocean view pools but every pool is the perfect photo opp.
The Mulia bathtub
The Mulia is photogenic every corner you look, but the bathtub overlooking the ocean situation is phenomenal. So beautiful. The balcony is also a great spot to chill & take pics. I was extra, but it was my birthday, but I would have been extra anyways.
Ubud Rice Terraces Tegallalang
Tegallalang Rice Terrace is the most iconic rice field in Bali. Go before 9 AM to avoid the humid heat and crowds – trust me it’s worth it! You’ll be rewarded with such a lush & majestic view. However, if you plan on adventuring through the fields – which you are allowed to do as long as you are respectful and stay on the path – make sure to wear shoes you don’t care about because it is super muddy. I almost fell a handful of times.
Ubud / Tegallalang Swings
Some people told me that the swings weren’t worth it because it was too “touristy” but I had the time of my life! No really, I couldn’t stop laughing – I felt so free and liberated. Our photos from here didn’t come out as I expected but now I know to wear something flowy next time. Also, make sure to go early morning to avoid the crowds.
Infinity Pools – Wapa de Ume
For full on jungle vibes, Wapa de Ume in Ubud is the place to go. This infinity pool overlooked the jungle and the best part is that it was always empty so it’s easy to get the shot.
Canggu Beaches
Joe really wanted to ride dirt bikes on the beach so we found a beach in Canggu where this was possible. The photos speak for themselves – it was absolutely epic.
KYND
The cutest restaurant and ice cream shoppe in Seminyak is KYND. Everything is pink themed and it looks like something Pinterest birthed itself.
Floating Breakfast at Equilibria
Having your own private villa means having the freedom to get creative without having to worry who’s watching. You can be the most comfortable and capture epic content. We loved the floating breakfast at Equilibria in Seminyak for photos and real life – because having that balance is crucial. And not only did it look good, but it tasted so good.

Gili Swings
Monkey Forest
Tirta Gangga Royal Garden – The Magical Water Palace
Sekumpul Waterfall

Places to skip:
Tanah Lot
I thought Tanah Lot was a big disappointment. It has no charm, only hundreds of lackluster stalls where people try to sell tourists trinkets. Such a shame – I’m sure it used to be beautiful but I found the experience very meh and there are no opportunities for good photos because of how many people there are. You also can’t go close to the temple which was a bummer.
Mason Elephant Park
The elephants are mistreated here and you can read about it in detail here. They’ve renamed this place 4 times that I know of. PLEASE DO NOT EVER RIDE ELEPHANTS. Don’t do it for the gram. Be a responsible traveler.
