Hawaii, what a chill & magical dream. Joe and I just got back from a quick 4 day trip to Oahu, which left us both feeling so refreshed and revitalized. So, to help everyone else out, I’m sharing with you the best Oahu Hawaii travel guide & 4 day itinerary to make your trip a breeze. Comment below if there’s anything you would add!
Important tips
Definitely rent a car!
I rented an awesome convertible Mustang on Turo and it was perfect!
Stay at a hotel in Waikiki
We stayed at the Laylow Waikiki which was centrally located in town so we could walk around to restaurants and the beach, etc.
Day 1
Land, pick up your rental car, unpack, settle in, freshen up, eat, hydrate, and relax. The first day of travel is one you shouldn’t make any big plans for.
Walk over to Waikiki Beach for sunset. If you stay in Waikiki then you’re walking distance from the beach.
Order in room service or go get dinner at your hotel. Keep it easy.
Day 2
You’ll probably wake up abnormally early due to the time change (which feels amazing) but that means you’ll also be abnormally hungry. For breakfast & coffee walk on over to Heavenly Island Lifestyle or if it’s still too early and no where is open yet, room service. Then get ready for your day.
Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve
Sandy Beach Park + Halona Blowhole
Day 3
By the third day, you should be feeling recharged, relaxed, and ready for some adventures. We basically ended up driving around the entire island which I highly recommend. Make sure to pack some snacks, water, and camera for the road. Get ready for a super fun day kiddos.
Lanikai Beach + Kailua Beach Park
Kualoa Ranch
North Shore + Pipeline Beach
Waimea Bay Beach Park
Laniakea Beach Park if you have time. This is also know as Turtle Beach
Day 4
Breakfast at Bill’s Hawaii
Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden
This place is magical. We drove around the garden, hiked, took some pics, read about plants – it was awesome.
