Miami – a vibrant city full of exotic cultures, white sand beaches, fine dining, museums, exuberant art deco architecture, lavish hotels, flashy cars, parties galore and beautiful sun-kissed people.
As many of you already know I bought a condo 6 months ago in Brickell and honestly – to my own surprise – have fallen in love with the city and lifestyle. I initially was not quite keen on spending so much time in Miami because every time I had visited previously was kind of like Vegas… You have the time of your life but then you need to leave after 2-3 days to recuperate and get your life back together. However, I was here to work on a major project (and v focused) BUT I did make time to go explore this beautiful city full of life and I want to share with you some of my favorite experiences. Comment your favorites below – much love.
1. Art Basel
Art Basel was bout a week ago and it was the craziest 4 days of my Miami experience. So much art, so many friends to meet up with, so many parties – I basically didn’t sleep for 4 days. But totally worth it.
Below is the video from my collaboration with Ellington Handbags – this leather backpack is my new favorite – I literally take it everywhere. Perfect for travel and adventures.
John Foster pieces at a hotel gallery during Art Basel.
John Foster was discovered by Banksy, resides in Minneapolis, and was one of the coolest artists I’ve ever met. Check him out.
2. South Beach solo
I love going to the beach with friends but solo is so peaceful and feels like I’m on a mini vacay with a book and headphones. It’s a place I can organize my thoughts, brainstorm and come up with creative ideas. Also – the people watching – it is quite entertaining.
My recommendation is to go to the W Hotel’s beach. There’s a parking lot right there and if you get thirsty – they have amazing drinks galore.
3. La Mar at the Mandarin Oriental – Brickell Key
Diego Oka -the head chef at La Mar, is by far one of the most talented, positive, inspirational people I’ve ever met. This is a throwback to when my friend Jinna (who is also a blogger) and I went to dinner at LaMar for her birthday a few months ago. She was working with the Mandarin Oriental and we had the most amazing experience. Highly recommend this gem if you love Peruvian food, amazing drinks, a beautiful atmosphere and quite a view of Brickell.
Must-haves at La Mar – Pisco Sour and Plantain Chips.
4. Dinners with friends
Cake Thai – legit the best Thai is Miami – so authentic and full of flavor. #gem
Dinner at Alt in Wynwood.
Diego is amazing and took us to have an incredible meal at Alt – the top restaurant in Wynwood. I’d honestly eat there everyday if I had the time. Enjoyed the chef’s tasting and cannot wait to go visit you guys again:)
5. Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
My daddio and I went to Vizcaya a couple months ago and it was stunning. You feel like you’ve left Miami for a minute and entered this Mediterranean Villa. Flawless.
6. Wynwood Walls and the Design District

8. The Perez Museum
Took my little sister here a couple weeks ago – not only is the location perfect but the galleries are all interesting and yes – they serve wine outside.
9. The Flwheel Challenge
I became a Flywheel Brand Ambassador and participated in the Flywheel Challenge which was an intense 28 days of spin and barre classes. I’ve never felt more energized, toned and clear headed. Thank you Flywheel!
10. The Hermes party
And party of the year goes to Hermes. I don’t know how they do it but that was hands down the best event/party a brand has ever put on. I wish I could just live in that pseudo world for another night – unreal. Props Hermes. Serious props.
