The Ultimate Best Things To Do In Mammoth, California
Mammoth is my personal favorite snow destination in California so I want to share the ultimate best things to do in Mammoth for the optimum snow adventure. Mammoth is a great destination for a family vacation, snow trip with your friends, or a romantic getaway with your lover. We didn’t snowboard this trip because there wasn’t a ton of snow, but we did do a plethora of other activities that were honestly just as fun for us. Joe used to live in Mammoth when he was a pro snowboarder so he had lots of recommendations on places to go & of course eat. I used to visit Mammoth during high school for winter breaks, but it had been a minute since I’d been back. This trip we went with Mire and her boyfriend for a fun couples trip and it was awesome. Perfectly relaxing & adventurous. Keep scrolling for the best things to do in Mammoth.

Tubing at Woolly’s Tube Park
AHHH SO FUN YOU GUYS. I didn’t take photos here because I was too busy living in the moment, but Joe did get a few fun videos that I’ll put in my Mammoth Vlog. Subscribe to my Youtube channel here. Tubing was so fun you guys, I haven’t laughed that hard in a while. It was exhilarating, adventurous, and memorable. Highly recommend. Woolly’s Tube Park is for children and adults. They have about 6 snow slides and you can go down them by yourself, with 2 people, or with 4 people. It’s wild and #1 on my list.
Snowmobile Adventures
You can rent a snowmobile for 1.5 hours and explore the mountains that way. This is great for those who love the snow, but don’t necessarily love snowboarding or skiing.
Ski / Snowboard
Obviously I had to include skiing & snowboarding in this guide. Mammoth Mountain has a trail for everyone. You can take lessons, start on the bunny slopes, or master the black diamond runs depending on how experienced you are. Go to the main lodge, rent your gear there, buy your lift tickets, and then slay the pow.
Check Out The Hot Springs
I’ve always wanted to check out hot springs and we finally did! You can read this article here on how to get there. Not all of the springs are worth visiting, so just make sure you do your research first. Or just wing it and go explore.
Stay at one of the Mammoth Condos
We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo that was conveniently located near everything. If you’re traveling with a group of people, this is the way to go because you can eat together, enjoy the cozy fire, relax in the hot tub, play board games, and watch classic movies. You can book the one we stayed in here. I loved our stay here because we were a 5-10 minute drive from everything we needed and the hot tub was perfect for after a long day of exploring.
Eat
Some of our favorite restaurants that we recommend are The Stove Diner, Samurai for Japanese food, Erick Schat’s Bakery on the way in or out of Mammoth, Looney Bean for coffee, Stellar Brew & Natural Cafe, Elixir Superfood & Juice for health foods and smoothies, Roberta’s for Mexican food, and Mammoth Rock n’ Bowl if you like to bowl, drink, & eat at the same time:) Also this is random, but we went to work out at Snowcreek Athletic Club & it was really fun because they have a basketball court, trampolines, sauna, jacuzzi, heated indoor pool, a huge gym, and more.
