Where to Stay for a Relaxing Vacation in Nicaragua
If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation on a private beach in Central America, check out Gran Pacifica Resort in Nicaragua. I went with my dad and it was a great reset. I left with tan lines, a rejuvenated mind, memories with new friends, and gratitude for the simple things.
Gran Pacifica has 3.5 miles of private beach that is perfect for watching sunsets, massages, surfing, and horseback riding. It’s a simple resort, but sometimes it’s nice having nothing on the agenda except reading by the pool, taking a stroll on the beach, and dining with an ocean view.
Whether you prefer a spacious villa, a cozy condo, or a deluxe suite, you’ll find each option well-appointed with modern amenities and stunning views. The accommodations all have fully-equipped kitchens for a home-away-from-home experience. We stayed in a 2 bedroom house that was walking distance to the beach which was nice, but I recommend getting a room with an ocean view.
Private Beaches and Pristine Pools
For those who love the water, Gran Pacifica provides access to pristine private beaches where you can unwind on the golden sands or take a dip in the clear blue waters. The resort’s pool areas are equally inviting, with infinity pools that offer breathtaking views of the ocean. Whether you’re lounging by the pool with a good book or taking a sunset stroll along the beach, relaxation is guaranteed.
Surfing Lessons for All Levels
If you’re looking to add a bit of excitement to your relaxing getaway, Gran Pacifica offers surfing lessons for all skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned surfer or a complete beginner, the experienced instructors will guide you through the basics or help you refine your technique. With some of the best waves in the region, surfing at Gran Pacifica is an exhilarating way to connect with the ocean.
Explore on Horseback
For a unique way to explore the beautiful surroundings, try horseback riding. Gran Pacifica offers guided horseback riding tours that take you through lush landscapes and along the picturesque coastline. This peaceful activity is perfect for nature lovers and provides a wonderful opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Nicaragua up close.
Tee Off at the Golf Course
Golf enthusiasts will be thrilled with Gran Pacifica’s on-site golf course. Designed to challenge players of all levels, the course is set against a stunning backdrop of rolling hills and ocean views. Whether you’re a casual player or a serious golfer, you’ll appreciate the meticulously maintained greens and the tranquil atmosphere.
Day Trips and Local Exploration
While Gran Pacifica provides everything you need for a relaxing stay, there are also plenty of opportunities for day trips and local exploration. Take a short drive to nearby towns and markets to experience the vibrant culture of Nicaragua. The resort can arrange excursions to local attractions, ensuring you get a taste of the rich history and natural beauty of the area. They also have bikes you can ride around the massive property, or you can also take them outside like my dad and I did. But if you want to adventure, they will set up a guide for you to go explore the volcanoes, fresh water lakes, towns, and more.
Gran Pacifica is also impressive because they have a reforestation program where they planted 10,000 trees, a sea turtle conservation program, and they are providing more jobs and schooling for the community. 20 years ago this area didn’t have power or wifi, so seeing projects like this is really inspiring:)
