I’m typically not the type to go on last-minute, unplanned trips, but sometimes in life you gotta just let go and live. Joey and I woke up on Saturday morning and decided that we wanted to go get some sun and recharge in Palm Springs – so we packed our bags and just drove. Hotels were pretty packed due to the tennis tournament that was going on but we were able to book a last minute trip via Hotel Tonight at the V Palm Springs – a new hotel right by the Ace. They’re still under construction due to expansion, but it was perfect because we had a pool all to ourselves. V chill. V romantic. V Palm Springs.
Palm Springs is one of my new favorite destinations for a quickie getaway because everything is accessible and the resorts have everything you need. This was my first trip to PS that wasn’t for Coachella, work, or family vacay and it really made me appreciate this town for what it is – the perfect last minute getaway when you need a change of scenery.
Nothing compares to the ultimate feeling of relaxation and a clear mind in the middle of the desert. The warmth of the colors during sunset, the dry heat perfect for laying by the pool, and the clean and quiet atmosphere to help you center yourself. I felt connected to myself in a different way and my creative block was lifted.
Here is a little photo diary of our quickie trip.
“Have a lived life instead of a career. Put yourself in the safekeeping of good taste. Lived freedom will compensate you for a few losses. . . . If you don’t like the style of others, cultivate your own. Get to know the tricks of reproduction, be a self-publisher even in conversation, and then the joy of working can fill your days.”
