How To Style A Gingham Dress For Summer

I’ll be completely honest, originally I wasn’t a fan of gingham. Gingham print just reminded me of picnic table cloths and vintage curtains from the 90’s. But then I grew to love it after I saw a few modern gingham pants, dresses and tops. I saw potential. So I finally tried styling it for myself, and I’m now here to admit that I was wrong. If you aren’t yet a believer, keep reading while I show you how to style a gingham dress for summer.:)

How To Style A Gingham Dress For Summer

A gingham dress is a great staple piece to have because it’s a great transitional and versatile piece. Gingham dresses are perfect for spring and summer, work or play, brunch or dinner. So let’s get to the styling aspect, and as always, I’ll keep it simple.

First, start with the shoes. White pumps are a perfect match for gingham. They’re classic, elegant, and sleek.

Next, a belt. I wore a simple black faux leather belt to give the silhouette more shape.

Then move onto the scarf and jewelry. I always try to spruce up my outfits with scarves because they are so unique, so here I’m wearing a simple A.M. Club silk georgette scarf. For jewelry, I tend to stick to gold tones because they compliment my skin tone so I wore gold hoops, and pearl bracelets.

Lastly, I finished off the look with these classic, super Italiana looking sunglasses and a vintage black bag.

And voila! There you have it – a chic gingham dress look for summer:)
