The Classic Summer Sandal: Bel Air To Badlands

I love living a spontaneous life due to a busy schedule and last minute projects. And with an on-the-go lifestyle, life is a lot easier when I have solid staple pieces in my closet, easy to pack and go… I always need to be prepared for any and every adventure life offers me. Carpe diem.

I remember hearing about Zappos from my dad about 14 years ago on a drive to softball practice when I was about 11. My dad likes to listen to interviews and educational discussions on the radio – the equivalent to our present day podcasts and Youtube – and I specifically remember an interview with the Zappos founder. I asked my dad what Zappos was because the catchy, unfamiliar name caught my attention and he explained to me that they were a new tech company that stood out due to their revolutionary customer service, unparalleled return/shipping policies and genuine company ethos. Later that week, my dad saved a newspaper article for me to read. It was an article on Zappos revolutionizing the industry with excellent customer service. I remember reading it and then later that month seeing a Zappos box show up at our house. If that isn’t great marketing fam, I don’t know what is.

Since then, I’ve ordered countless birthday and Christmas gifts, shoes, designer items, and TEVA sandals from Zappos because it makes everything seamless and accessible. *Also a major fact I just recently learned is that TEVA is pronounced Tev-ah, not Tee-vah. This blew my mind.* 

TEVA sandals are another similarity that I share with my dad. I remember going on lake trips when I was a lil nugget and he always had his black TEVA’s on which always left funny tan lines on his feet. I even remember him wearing them with socks multiple times and my sisters and I had to explain to him that that was social suicide. He wore them anyways and now I realize that my dad is way cooler than me and was actually way ahead of street style trends and fashion bloggers.

Fast forward to today and now here I am traveling around in my modern TEVA sandals – a footwear icon.
