The Art

The feminine form has long been one of art’s most enduring subjects – from the idealized figures of classical sculpture to the expressive nudes of modern painting. Source of Flowing Gold approaches the subject differently, dissolving the body into flowing fields of color, curves, openings, and movement.

Rather than depicting the body as a traditional nude, the work allows the viewer to recognize the feminine through suggestion. Curves become bodies, openings become gestures, and flowing lines evoke the sensuality of skin, movement, and touch.

Abstraction can make sensuality more powerful precisely because it leaves something to the imagination. By obscuring the literal body, the paintings create space for desire, intimacy, and personal interpretation. Across cultures and centuries, gold has represented wealth, divinity, beauty, power, and permanence.

In Source of Flowing Gold, gold takes on another dimension: it becomes a visual language for abundance.The gold does not simply sit on the surface as decoration. It appears to move through the composition, creating the sensation of something being generated, received, and continuously circulated.

The saturated reds and pinks create an atmosphere that is simultaneously intimate and dramatic. Crimson and burgundy introduce depth and intensity, while softer rose and coral tones create movement across the canvas. Against this warmth, the gold becomes almost luminous.

A Diptych Designed to Flow

The two paintings are designed to hang side by side, allowing the composition to extend beyond the boundaries of a single canvas. Movement carries from one panel into the next, creating a continuous visual rhythm that feels expansive and immersive.
