Business casual chic is not the easiest to pull off. You don’t want to come off too conservative and stuffy, yet you don’t want to appear too casual either. You also don’t want to be uncomfortable, yet you need to look like you have your life together and everything under control. You want to appear effortless, yet look like you gave a fuck when getting ready in the morning. Girl, trust, I know – finding the right mix is not as easy as Donald made it for Hilary to win the election last night – ya nastyyy – which is why you need some staple pieces in your closet to make your life easier. The trick is to find the right types of fabrics and cuts.
Personally, I like to go with structured tops like this oversized Elliatt top and mix with flowy silk pants that are comfortable to wear all day and night. Then I accessorize with an A.M. silk scarf and some leather sandals because I’m in California and it’s still pretty hot af here right now. In NY just switch out the sandals for some close toed shoes and you’re good to go.
Ciao bellos.
