Chicago day 2. Time to take a ride and go on the Wendella Boat Tour. On this tour we learned about the history of all the buildings and got to enjoy a beautiful view of the city. One of my favorites was the Tribune Tower which is where Al Capone used to work out of. Preeeetty gangster if you ask me.

After we toured around we went back to our hotel to regroup then we all went to the famous pizza place-Giordano’s. SO packed. People love their pizza in Chicago. Then after we walked around Michigan Ave or the Magnificent Mile and did some shopping. Such tourists.

Yummy lunch at The Signature Room at the 95th (as in 95 floors up-insanity). And yes- the Mariettas devour dessert.

And macarons….

UP Comedy Club with the fam was SOOOOOO fun! Highly recommend. We sat in the front and daddio and mother both got picked on slash had to go on stage. One of the best moments of the trip.

And what would a comedy show be without booze?

Navy Pier.

It was Easter weekend.

 Iphone case-The Snugg; Pants and jacket-Levi’s; Bracelets-Kim & Zozi; Bag-George Gina & Lucy.

Navy Pier was gorgeous and really fun to explore. There was the stained glass museum, little shops inside the plaza and they had a BUILD-A-BEAR! I remember how obsessed I used to be with that place-almost as cool as Disneyland. Just kidding, not even close.

But this outfit was very nautical in essence. The navy bomber jacket is one of my new favorites. Navy is my favorite basic color because it is so versatile, so this bomber is perfect for every season. And these printed pants are very fun and comfortable- perfect for traveling/exploring. And check out this phone case! The Snugg makes really cool phone cases so make sure to check them out here.

After Navy Pier we went to The Signature Room on 95 in the John Hancock building for lunch and enjoyed the breathtaking view of downtown Chicago. This is one of the highest bars in the world allowing you to see a 60 miles span on a clear day. Truly a beautiful city. On the ride up in the elevator my ears popped. Can’t say that has happened in a building before but it was kind of awesome/scary.

Following lunch we wen to UP Comedy Club which was the best idea ever. (I have to admit-my itineraries are quite adventure filled and kind of really awesome). It’s always fun to sit back and enjoy a comedy show. Especially when they pick on your parents. Such champs.

Inspiration of the day:

“Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.”

Wrigley field is really cool.

Cantina Laredo for dinner. YUM.

Vegan and gluten-free enchiladas…Heaven.

If you didn’t know, my family is extremely into sports-specifically baseball and I have to say- going to games with the fam is always such a fun and memorable experience. When I was still living in California we would go to Dodgers games all the time, always having so much fun and making the best memories. My favorite moment always being the infamous “wave” and watching the players run around in tight white pants. Also before I was vegan I thought Dodger dogs and ice cream helmets were something to look forward to…Why Amy, why?

So last minute we decided to go to a Cubs games and being that my grandpa used to live in Chicago we were clearly rooting for them. They lost but great game guys! After the game we went to dinner at Cantina Laredo which was a really cool, modern Mexican restaurant. The place had a really cool vibe and we loved the food.
