Austin, Texas – not our families original plan for Thanksgiving but hey, life happens and schedules get crazy. Honestly, I had an awesome time with the fam here – hence why I want to share with you this post. You can read my previous post about my Austin adventures with friends on our cross country road trip here for more recommendations.
There are so many beautiful and blossoming cities in the US that are worth visiting – Austin being one of them. Austin is one of the most vibrant cities (no seriously, there are neon signs EVERYWHERE) and is it also the second fastest-growing cities in the US. Love, love Austin.
But honestly, if you are with your family and people you love – it doesn’t matter where you are. <3
To prep for your trip I recommend researching and planning some activities and restaurants you want to experience. This will get you and your fam excited and on the same page. It also saves you a lot of time when you’re actually on vacay and don’t want to be Yelp-ing good places to eat.
Here are the places I recommend and some tips for traveling with family to Austin, Texas.
Simple tips to make the most of it:
-Start your family trip/vacay well-rested
-Be open to new experiences
-Be grateful
-Record the memories
-Relax
-Exercise and stay healthy

Mother bear thought that this neon Austin Motel sign looked like a penis – had to take a pic. Thoughts?

Voodoo Donuts
Sixth Street
Sixth Street during the day is okay with fam – at night though – it gets rowdy AF and full of college kids. Great place to go out with your siblings though if ya’ll like to drink.
