Spring has fully sprung my friends. I am loving the blossoming trees, much happier humans and this gorgeous weather in New York- huge perks. The day Denys and I shot this mini series in Central Park, it was also gorgeous outside. After this past Winter, anything above 50 degrees will slap a huge smile on my face and if you live here you know exactly what I am talking about…#PolarVortexRIP. PS. You NEED to take a ride in these boats in Central Park, it’s even more fun than it looks.
This is the make up free shoot I had previously told you about. I woke up like ‘dis- as Beyonce would say. I love not wearing make up lately, I feel so fresh and clean. With all of the buzz about this article where Annie talks about her transition to a make up free lifestyle, I thought it was fitting to join the movement and partake in a make up free shoot. I agree that women should not be expected to wear make-up, I think it is one’s personal choice. There are many benefits to not wearing make up which you can read about here. (Number one in my opinion is always being prepared for a pool party-girl you do not want mascara running down your face-never a good look.) I also loved Leandra Medine’s article about her experience with make up which you can read here. I was honestly a bit disappointed with her response but appreciate that she addressed the issue. I wish she would have rather stuck with her personal preference and not caved into societies comments and standards. She has no problem wearing insane, man-repelling outfits so why would she start wearing make-up because of what one man said? Imagine if we all did that. I would love to see what the man who said that comment looked like. Bottom line is be true to yourself and do things because you want to, not because of what someone else’s opinion.
Anyways! Spring is all about pastels and light colors which is all I have been wearing. I am in love with this Handkerchief coat with the big bunny on the front- you can’t miss it. The collection was inspired by magic which I think is really cool and something you don’t see everyday. The collection tells a neat story that I found pretty intriguing. This coat won’t be available until next Fall but hey at least you can add it to your “I
want need list” right?
The second outfit by Cres E. Dim is very futuristic and boxy. Also a really different collection. I paired this scarf by evolution with the ensemble to add some pop. I love the kaleidoscope print, the colors are gorgeous and it is the perfect Winter meets Spring combo.
