It was such a beautiful weekend here in NYC! The sunshine and warmer weather put me in the best mood – so happy to enjoy the gorgeous Spring weather and see everyone frolicking outside with their puppies, kiddos and their big smiles on. It was bliss. I ventured out to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens for the first time and it was rather pretty and a pleasant breath of fresh air. I think visiting the Botanic Gardens one time is enough unless you live close to there because it is somewhat of a trek and the surrounding area was not exactly interesting. (If you are a foodie like me then this place is not for you, they didn’t even have macarons… And what is a Sunday without macarons?)
I was so excited to finally dress for Spring! (Excuse my pale legs, this is by far the most untanned this Italian, California girl has ever been…yikes.) These shorts and this blazer by Gentlefawn are such great pieces and can really be dressed up or down. It is also a great day to night outfit and is comfortable as well. I love the half tucked button down look – not too casual and not too dressy.
Inspirations of the day:
“The secret lies in how we handle today, not yesterday or tomorrow. Today… that special block of time holding the key that locks out yesterday’s nightmares and unlocks tomorrow’s dreams.”
“The greatest power we have is the power of choice. It’s an actual fact that if you’ve been moping in unhappiness, you can choose to be joyous instead and, by effort, lift yourself into joy. If you tend to be fearful, you can overcome that misery by choosing to have courage. Even in darkest grief you have a choice – The whole trend and quality of anyone’s life is determined in the long run by the choices that are made.”

“Gratitude helps you to grow and expand; gratitude brings joy and laughter into your life and into the lives of all those around you.”
PS. Here are some more photos of the brunch spot and the Botanic Gardens.
Bloody Mary Sundays.
Perfect place for a picnic. Come prepared people. Bring those macarons.
I am such a sucker for Asian inspired gardens, mostly because they usually involve koi. So quaint.
Is it just me or does this look like the jungle in LOST? #blacksmokemonster
Greenhouses for days.
Such a handsome photographer:)
