This natural wonder is UNREAL. The Grand Canyon was the only stop on our cross country road trip where I wasn’t working with a hotel and every lodge/hotel/motel/resort/Air bnb was fully booked because it was the 4th of July weekend. We contemplated staying in a cool train caboose outside the park, BUT it was allegedly haunted (I don’t fux with ghosts) and an hour away from the park. I don’t know how, but we were lucky enough to get a room at the Yavapai Lodge in the park because there was a last minute cancellation. YAHS. Thank you Yavapai!

I don’t usually say this but I recommend planning the Grand Canyon out a little bit in advance only because the drive to civilization from the park is about an hour. Even if you’re just prepared with a tent… anything to avoid a long drive back at night with spotty/shit wifi – aka my worst nightmare.

Here’s a little photo diary of our trip to the Grand Canyon – the last stop on our cross country road trip. Enjoy:)

Definitely check out El Tovar Hotel – we went here for dinner and it was beautiful. . They recommend making reservations 8-13 months in advance… I can’t plan my life like that but if you can – I highly recommend it!
