cancun - finest resorts_-20

Cancún, a Mexican city on the Yucatán Peninsula bordering the Caribbean Sea, known for its perfectly blue hued beaches, numerous resorts and energetic nightlife. It’s composed of 2 distinct areas: the more traditional downtown area, El Centro, and Zona Hotelera, a long, beachfront strip of high-rise hotels, nightclubs, shops and restaurants. Cancun is also a famed destination for students during college’s spring break – but you probably already knew that.

This past weekend I was able to experience a totally different side of Cancun – I stayed at the

Finest Playa Mujeres

– the most beautiful all-inclusive resort in Cancun. Playa Mujeres could not be more convenient for families, honeymooners or groups who like to relax, drink and eat. Personally, I always like to go into town when traveling to get a taste of the culture but Cancun is more a destination meant for relaxing. I loved the resort so much that I only went into town for a couple hours because honestly you have everything you need at the resort and it is the finest quality – it’s all so convenient.

Highlights:

They have 17 bars, 13 restaurants and 24 hour room service.

All rooms have amazing oversized jacuzzis that overlook the balcony.

You can have a room with your very own pool.

The beach is private.

I’d be lying if I said we didn’t have to experience Coco Bongo at night – so much for that detox… This club/disco is the best in Cancun by far. Each person pays $80 to get in and then it’s open bar so you don’t get as many randos and it’s super safe. Coco Bongo really goes all out with the various performances throughout the night ranging from acrobatics to Michael Jackson imitators to Star Wars performances. But beware of the lady with the whistle pouring tequila shots down people’s throats…

Also a little tip about going out in Mexico – always hire a driver if you’re going out to a club or anywhere really. Especially if you’re two young girls from the US going out not-so-sober and you have to be at the airport at 5 am. The hotel can arrange it for you – thank you Finest Playa Mujeres for making sure Brittany and I came home safely and on time! 😉
