Last week I went exploring and shooting some new outfits (credits above) with photographer Simon Z Chetrit and he introduced me to some of my new favorite spots in the city that I want to share with you. Go explore your city and comment your favorite places below:) xx
1. The Oculus
This beauty located in FiDi only cost a mere 4 billion dollars (in taxpayer money lolz) and was built to connect the PATH train from New Jersey to Brookfield Place, an office complex across from the World Trade Center site. It is a glass-and-steel structure designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and looks like a museum on the inside and a Pokemon or dinosaur skeleton of some sort on the outside. They’re opening some shopping inside but I recommend you go check it out before it gets popular and filled with tourists. Or tourists – you can go check this out and take selfies – it’s great for that too.
2. The Irish Hunger Memorial
This gem opened all the way back in the Summer of 2002 at the corner of Vesey Street and North End Avenue in Battery Park City. It was designed collaboratively by artist Brian Tolle, landscape artist Gail Wittwer-Laird and architecture firm 1100 Architect to raise awareness of the Great Irish Famine. A little random but hey – it’s a gorgeous place to watch the sunset – enjoy:)
3. North Cove Marina
A marina full of beautiful boats surrounded with restaurants and people jogging along the Hudson River. Sunset here is stunning – highly recommend.
